I have tried a lot of different consulting and advisory engagements but at the end of the day the ones that work best and the ones that get me excited are the ones where I have an inordinate amount of skin in the game.

A typical engagement would look like this:

  • Working with CEO/Founder on special projects. The mandate can be specific or broad: Fundraising, m&a, market expansion, business unit creation, evaluating biz models, launching new product etc

  • Working with CXO sponsor + direct teams. The mandate is often specific: Spin out new team, expand channel partnerships, grow new business function, evaluate products/teams, improve funnel conversion etc
